May 15, 2014 - District Response to Questions and Request for Clarifications posted to the Procurement Website.
The San Mateo County Transit District (District) is issuing this request for proposals as part of the requirements in support of a comprehensive Drug Use and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. The objective of this program is the achievement and maintenance of an alcohol and drug-free transit workforce in the interest of health and safety of employees, transit riders and the general public. This program has been designed to be in compliance with industry regulations and guidelines which have been developed specifically for transit properties by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and are included in 49 CFR Part 40, Procedures For Transportation Workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing Programs and 49 CFR Part 655, Prevention of Prohibited Drug Use in Transit Operations, Prevention of Alcohol Misuse in Transit Operations, portions of which can be found at www.fta.dot.gov.
We would like to invite you to register to become an approved Contractor/Vendor on the SamTrans Website. We use our website to notify, by e-mail, Contractor/Vendors in your area of expertise of upcoming and current contract solicitations. I have included instructions on how to register.
1) Go to the Internet and type in our website address, www.samtrans.com and click on bids/contracts in the blue banner at top of screen.
2) Click on the word “page.”
3) On the right-hand of the screen, click on the Button that says “Register Now” and fill out the registration form. Then click on “Submit”.
4) Please select the Expertise Codes (Construction and Facilities Maintenance) that apply to your company. For the upcoming above referenced solicitation, please select “Drug and Alcohol Collection Service” Then click on “Submit”. Once approved, you will have full vendor access to the site.
